Rosary Altar Society

Members of the Rosary Altar Society Strive:
  • To praise and honor the Blessed Mother, bonded together in Christian Charity.
  • To enhance Church celebrations, by trying to attend as Rosarians.
  • To attend to the care of the altars and altar linens & Priests' vestments.
  • Join and pray with us spiritually each day throughout the year - at home or together with us.  Also at our Monthly Mass (September through June), usually first Sunday at 11:00 am.  Attend meetings & events when you can.  Also try to pray a decade of the Rosary each day, if possible.
  • To Promote good fellowship among the women of the Parish, and to bring them together in a Christian spirit - in person and those at home.
  • To contribute toward the financial support of the Church, with income from dues, social activities, and our Thrift Shop.
  • Board members will be notified when a Rosarian is deceased.  We ask that you  attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes, and sit together in the back of Church.  Continue to Pray for our ill and deceased Rosarian members.

Members' Thoughts and Reflections about Membership

"All my life, the Blessed Mother has been there for me - my  'Safety Net'.  I was absolutely thrilled to be able to join the Rosary Altar Society.  For five years, the ladies I have met and enjoyed activities with, all have one thing in common "Our Blessed Mother".  I feel that I have known them all - all my life.  What a womderful way to enjoy the Parish!!!"

"The Rosary Society has always had a special place in my life.  The ladies are wonderful friends, and all the committees we have served on together have helped us to form a life-long bond.  Working on the Altars, is particularly rewarding."

"Being a member of the Rosary Altar Society has truly been a blessing to me.  Over the past ten years, I have made friends with women of different ages and backgrounds, but with a common tie:  love and devotion to our Blessed Mother.  The meetings are varied and interesting, as well as lots of fun.  We are also active in many of the Parish functions."

"Rosary Altar Society has been important to me in my adult life, for a few years at my Brooklyn Parish, and for over 30 years at OLL in Malverne.  We come together as Christian women, to love and serve God and His Blessed Mother, and to thank Them for many good people and blessings in our lifetime - and to hlep our Parish and our world.  We can each make a difference with our prayers, and we also try to follow Mary's example and to care about others."
