Today we remember with gratitude the life of Peggy Hannan — a woman who lived her faith wholeheartedly and whose presence became part of the very fabric of our parish family.
Peggy was not simply a parishioner; she was a pillar of our community. Her faith was never passive or hidden — it was vibrant, active, and inviting. Through her deep love for Christ and His Church, she inspired many to grow closer to God and to live their faith more intentionally.
Her devotion to the Legion of Mary defined much of her service. In that apostolate she reflected Our Lady’s humility, fidelity, and courage. Peggy understood that evangelization begins in prayer and naturally flows into action.
She founded St. Monica’s Prayer Group, gathering parishioners in faithful intercession — especially for children and loved ones who had drifted from the faith. Like St. Monica herself, Peggy trusted in the power of persistent prayer, and many hearts have been strengthened because of it.
Peggy also energized our Bible Study groups, encouraging people not only to read Scripture but to live it. Through her initiative, Words of Wisdom became a regular source of reflection and encouragement. Her Wednesday Movie Nights — often featuring The Chosen — created opportunities for fellowship, conversation, and deeper encounters with Christ.
She was a courageous advocate for life, standing firmly for the dignity of every human person from conception to natural death. Her witness was rooted not in debate, but in faith — in the belief that every life is a gift from God.
Yet beyond all the programs and ministries, what we will remember most is Peggy herself: her conviction, her steadiness, and her readiness to step forward whenever something needed to be done. She never waited for others — she responded.
While we grieve her loss, we also give thanks. We trust that her faith has become sight, and that the seeds she planted continue to grow in our parish.
The greatest tribute we can offer is to continue what she lived: to pray faithfully, serve generously, study God’s Word, defend life, and love the Church with the same devotion she showed every day.
May Peggy rest in the peace of Christ whom she served so faithfully.
